What the AI does and does not do
The astronomical math behind your chart — planet positions, signs, houses, aspects — is computed deterministically on our servers. The AI never invents those numbers. What the AI does is write the interpretation, in our voice, using your chart and your life context as raw material.
Large language models can produce confident-sounding text that is not accurate. We give the model your chart as a fact it cannot modify, and we instruct it not to predict the kinds of things astrology has historically been weaponized to predict — pregnancy, illness, death, finances, legal outcomes, other people's behavior. The model is also instructed not to claim any kind of scientific accuracy. If it ever does, that is a bug, and we want to hear about it.
Entertainment, not prediction
My Cosmic Self is a reflective tool. It works the way a good journaling prompt works — by giving you a way to think about your life. Do not make medical, financial, legal, or relationship decisions based on a reading.
Western tropical astrology
We use the Western tropical zodiac and the Placidus house system (or Whole-Sign if you were born above sixty-six degrees latitude, where Placidus is mathematically undefined). We do not interpret Vedic, Chinese, Mayan, or other astrological traditions, and we do not claim equivalence between them.
